In one of my previous posts i mentioned about a strange hissing noise coming from between my inlet manifold and block.
After a poking around for a while i have discovered it's coming from one of the injectors where it enters the head and can be made better or worse by pushing on the injector from different angles.
Obviously (unless i'm much mistaken) this means one of the injector O-rings is knackered and needs replacing.
When removing the injector rail all four O-rings should be replaced so, easy enough, just phone renault and order the O-rings (should be very cheap).
Unfortunately, when i called renault they said they couldnt supply the O-rings on their own and i would have to buy the complete injectors at £120 each, that would be £480 + VAT just to replace four tiny rubber O-rings.

Not a chance!!

So, cut to the chase....... Anyone know where i could get the O-rings on their own? Or even any O-rings that would do the job?

Cheers!

a fuel injection place will sell them to you, or a bosch agent.

Would normal rubber o-rings work?
Or are they made from special high temperature rubber?

they are a lot thicker than you think.

I have yet to see a suitable o-ring in B&Q, find a bosch agent, about a fiver for 50 or something.

I mean just slap it on on top of the o-rings as they are new. If anyone ever gets some i'll buy a few, mine are held together with super glue Rolling Eyes

I've found where to get the o-rings from, just need to know the exact model number of the bosch injectors used in the engine.

Any ideas?

No luck with the injector model yet?

Not to worry, have ordered a few of spare injectors from cit-ren just to have a play with, will get the number off them when they arrive.

Does anyone know if the cold start injector under the manifold uses an o-ring aswell?

Cheers!

Have at last located some injector o-rings, has been a mad chase but got there in the end.

They are being sent over from Bosch in Germany and are the last 2 sets they have in stock. (should be getting more though)

Have ordered them from a place called John Roberts in Wrexham
Tel: 01978853882

These are the part numbers

The complete injector: 0 280 150 830

Top o-ring: 1280 210 752

Bottom o-ring: 1280 210 756

Anyway, look forward to stopping that nasty hissing and re-gain the power i've lost from the leak.
