hi there..

i've had my 19 16v 4 years now, and today it developed a huge loss of power after having been thrashed a bit.
suddenly the airfilter roar of th k and n was louder and the car had lost
approx 30-40% power.
just wondered if anyone had any ideas? i'm no mechanic, but i nkow my stuff.. its not exhaust fallen off or anything so stupid.. air filter is still attatched and connecting pipes are in all in tact.
i have a little experience with audi/vw and its as if the airmass/airflow meter is faulty, but a mate advises he think the renault doesnot have one..
here's hoping someone else has experienced this....

thanks in advance.

this a common issue but normally at idle speed.

Normally caused by CTS and lambda.

But for it to happen on the move like that I would say MAP pipe has split or dropped off or TPS has died.

coolant temp sender.

yes they do and you'll need an xr25 or XRD to get any info from it.

hey guys,,,#

ok, i managed to find a local garage with a machine thet plugged in and read my fault codes and am pleased to advise there are none.

we checked or faults with lamda TPS CTS etc an all is tickety boo..

so we decided to remove the rear exhaust box because we started to suspect a blockage.

hey presto i have my power back again.

so i was hoping someone might be able to recommend a good exhaust supplier, ? i had a quote today but it was for 85 inc for non gen rear box.
sounds a little steep to me?
what do you think? thanks.
