Just got myself a 1993 clio 1.2 liberty, its almost done 100,000 miles, i got the car so i was mobile while i saved up for something a lot newer. (I use to have a honda, the alb went and thing woulda cost almost 1000 quid to fix, so the car went.)
Engine seems fine a little tappety its not been run in over a year so everything feels stiff also the brakes make a grinding noise, theres no rust on it which i was surprised for the year anyone know of any probs i may encounter with the car or look for Smile

400 notes from a garage plus my knackered honda, i did take look under the bonnet no oil leaks or smoke from exhaust ect. But im in the dark clutch is way 2 stiff cant seem 2 get a smooth bite another prob is a slight hesitation from very low revs thats about it for now.

well if its been standing then it will need a good drive to get things working again.

You should give it a thorough service and flush the coolant etc. Chaneg the oil and see if the tappings reduced if not you need to adjust the tappets which is easy enough.

Rusts the main problem tbh, so if its not rusty your fine.

The clutch is a fault of the car, the cable routing is terrible. However dodgy cables and worn clutches do not help. The pedal can also lead to trouble. I would stick a new renault cable in it or at least try and lube up the existing one.
