^^^^ is this likely to be torsion bar being previously buggered about with or (cringe having done a search) could the opposite side shock be fecked?

I knew it- I am inclined to agree with you but why has it changed unless someone has played with the torsion bar- its near totally rust free

Torsion bar, if its rust free thats most likley, not a bgi job, took me 20 mins to raise someon'e car on sunday, and then another 20 mins and then another 20 mins becasue tehy decided eachtime it was the wrong height

I just replaced the whole rear beam over the last two days and now the car has a gap of an inch to an inch and a half between the top of tyre and arch. whereas before the tyres were the same margin into the arches.

Dampers can affect ride height......

just I cant see why someone would alter the torsion bar and set either side at different heights
