Finding a 2.0 16v in Slovenija is like winning the lottery Wink

In about 3-4 months that I am searching ther was only one for 1550£ Mad

So now if I find engine in good condition I will make an engine swap.

I saw on ebay someone selling an engine and shipping to Europe by 1st Royal post would cost 200£. Prices in England for 2.0 engines are 300-400£+200£=600£ And this is still better than 1550£.

excellent! blew the head gasket on my clio at the weekend, figured it may well be cheaper to SORn it, and re-build better and stronger rather than fix the engine i have.

that more of the car needs to be recycled, different flulids disposed of in the proper manor in seprate ways so less profit to be had an a lot more hassle 1 of the biggest local breakers is closing because of this very reason

Ah right, that makes sense. Environmental regulations are going nuts at the moment... affecting all industries. It's a good thing really tbh.

Right, so where's the problem? your 1.8 needs a small repair and you now have £200 to do it.

head gasket isnt a cheap job, and the engine needs a new clutch as well.
the garages that i have spoke to so far are asking a fair wedge more than the 200 pounds i have to do these 2 jobs. thats why i thought it might be cheaper to get a new engine.

Did mine for the princely sum of £200

Headgasket, head bolts, water pump, new clutch, new clutch cable, waterpump, aux belt, cam belt and tensioners, oil filter, oil, and all 3 engine mounts Smile

all new items sourced mainly from ebay and the work was done by me
