ph1, are set up stiffer than ph2's. therefore it will cope better. also less power willbe wasted on a ph1.

Well, people keep saying that the phase 1 is stiffer and has a harsher ride, but there is no difference in suspension between them so it's either a psychological thing or down to the weight.

i did think when i went in a phase1 for the 1st time it was a well harder ride lol (was on the bumpstops)

i donno i seen neo's post somewhere and i says the ph1 hatch 3dr is 55kgs than the ph2 3dr hatch

Thought the phase 1 bodyshell was stiffer as they used higher quality metal?

these cars are so old, most of them prolly do not behave as renault intended them too...they are what they are...each a little bit unique...i cant see the point in going on and on about what they are supposed to be...

well due to working on Iains car (tranton) never had time to pick it up yesterday, gonna need to wait to next weekend due to the business gateway navigator course thingy.

All my cars apart from the ph2 lift the rear wheel going into the drive.

The blue hatch especially, its all new suspension gear and I can hardly bounce the thing.

Hmmm, no need to hazzard a guess which way I voted Cool At first I was gutted that we went for the F7R over the F4R but now i'm really chuffed and we're hoping to be seeing 200-210bhp fairly soon!

Yes Deffo, I've been in and seen Leanne megane powered 19. And it's goes well for a ph2 with all the weight in.

All that weight is going soon aswell Pete... We've finally decided to put the 19 on a diet and remove all that ICE from the boot. Well, it would be an awfull waste now that the management is here and the 45's are on order. Just need to sort out a new radiator, 330cc injectors and a webber inlet for an F7R-710 then we're off for some mapping. Hoping that BenR can sort out the fanimold issue as the price I got for a new one made me shit puppies Shocked

Chris, do it - You keeping DIS or going for the Distributor route?

dunno mick, dizzy is quick and easy, DIS is better though.

Will get it strip it then rebuild it anyway, I will ponder on what to do then.

Sequential is deffo better yeah and we still get ace MPG at full throttle but as you know it's not the easiest of routes to get running. I'm thinking about ditching it in favour of Batch/Bank fire with the 45's but i'm not sure which is going to give the gains over the next so maybe it's possible to get the sequential working with the TB setup? Also, from what i've heard of vernier pulleys at the minute i'm steering well clear of them as they seem to be letting go all the time... Craig, Stans...fook that!

Bens pullies don't break but are not cheap.

Batch fire is better for power and response tbh. Sequential goes to batch after 4krpm ish anyway.

sequential is good for low emmisions and fuel economy though.

I was reffering to coil packs being better than the dizzy btw.

what cams you running?

At the minute we're running a set of Piper Cams with a 270 profile and they've deffo given good increases and well worth the £££ IMO but I hear CAT Cams are that little bit better.

I think if you're going to go for an aftermarket EM system then the coilpack DIS igntion will be for you but if not, the distributor option would be far, far easier (But you already know that).

Chris, i'm bringing mine and the other stuff down in a van next weekend as i still need to look at my brakes. If you're needing to pick yours up and don't want to dump it in the back of your car i can give you hand if its not too far away?
