I see Ben's are similar to the Cat design anyway with a good solid face to bolt to and lock pins. Does he do them with the sequential pickup for the inlet cam on the 710 Chet?

As we've opted for 45's I'm not sure yet as the jury is still out in our camp:

Sequential Vs Batch

If we use Sequential I've been told we might loose a little low down grunt but get it back at mid to top and we don't have to buy verniers as no-one makes them for with the SFI sensor pickup on the inlet cam. If we go for Batch then we get a little more initial grunt (not much but it's there) and we can time the cams with a little more accuracy.

So Mick. How much work was it to get the engine running?

Want to do it to my Valver over the summer, but I don't know how hard it is exactly? Why can't you run a dizzy on it?

catcams pulleys are £216 inc Vat and delivery

i used spit chris...i ran out of butter Laughing

i was planning on loctiting them, but seen as they are meant to be adjustable i would usually do it AFTER mapping....bummer eh?!! anyway head is built back up and ready to fit. just trying to source some wilder cams

yes bens are. mine are catcams...like i said they were £216. yes, kent pulleys are shit...thats why i didnt buy them. like i said....mine didnt break. the catcams are the best imo...would recommend them to anyone

I agree, the Cat-Cams do seem to be the best vernier about and for the price there's no comparison to the Kent/piperX ones. BenR's also look quality and i'm not just syaing that as he's on here. If something looks shite i'll say it. It's a shame Craig found out the hard way that the Kent one's are about as strong as Renault gearbox mounts 7 Rover T Series pistons but at least he's getting it all rebuilt and it'll be done right this time.

FincH - Forget it mate. I'd love to fit the F7R mate but I've got Genital Bean screaming at me to fit his 24v lump in his 19 as Chris won't make the +200 mile journey, I've got the wife screaming at me to get the gearbox rebuilt, a padle clutch fitted along with TB's, Management, Coil Overs, 315mm brakes, Brembo 4 pots and getting the 19 mapped... All in time for Donny!

I'll be suprised if I survive this year without suffering a heart attack the rate she's pilling the pressure on Razz.

It's off topic really and i'm sure the search feature will ping up the topic for you but the 710 lump uses a toally different ingition and fuelling system to that of the F7P and F7R-700 so you need to reverse engineer some older F Series bits to get it working on the older management such as machine the cylinder head to accept a distributor for one. You could get it to run the standard Megane management but unless you're good at reading schematics and making wiring looms (And believe me there's loads) to splice the Megane system in to your setup i'd say forget it! We only did it as we'd always planned to do the dash and clockset conversion so it was a necesary evil (though Chris still hates us for doing it) and we're still chuffed with the results and I don't think anyone else has wanted to copy us yet Razz You could always buy yourself an aftermaket ECU and run it on that which is what we're now doing with the Throttle body setup but they're about £500-800 without mapping costs so isn't the cheapest way to go! Anyway, I'm shutting up now before I envoke the Mod/Admin rath for leading the thread astray :S
