Well as you know, Leanne and myself have just bought a house and we're hoping to be moving on the 10th so I've got to settle the balance by the end of Feb. I guess it'll all be about that time... the engine will also be coming out so I can fit a new clutch and rebuild the gearbox aswell although i'm tempted to just buy a 2nd hand one for the time being to resolve the 5th gear poping issue!

We'll be needing a smaller radiator to allow air flow to the TB's like Craigs Clio as we're currently using one from an A/C Equiped Megane and it's huge and does it's job really well however i'm worried about potential cooling issues with fitting a small unit.

Same sort of topic, does anyone know what type of rad would fit in a 19, but with water entry and exit stubs both on the gearbox side?

Being from a diesel, does it have better/worse/about the same cooling ability as the 16v one?

Chet, the 19 bay has the clearance for the setup with 90mm trumpets from my initial measurements but that doesn't take in to account filtration as i've not even looked at that yet. Hill Powers website shows a 19 bay with an F7R running a 45 setup with plenty of room. I'm just worried that as we're not running thh standard 19 16v Rad and used the Meganes (Which is twice the size of the 16v's) that we'll not get addequate cold air flowing through. Obviously if I can get away without having to replace the rad I will as they're pretty pricey but if it means that the TB's draw in too much warm air and effects performance then the rads gone for something with similar cooling characteristics but less height.

We've also had a front bumper modified to allow for larger air flow which is now on but needs meshing and painting.

I think the Diesel rads must have more cores than the 16v as they do run cooler than the petrol models.

Mick, think that's down the the fact that a diesel requires far less cooling than a petrol as it has far better thermal efficiency.

The Williams lump is deffo the easier option but good luck finding one via the usual eBay and Breakers yard channel for sensable money. Can't believe someone paid £1300 one!

Could have bought an F7R 710, paid someone to rebuild it, mod it and install it in his car for that as well.

lol yea dont like clios (no offence people)

cant you build a willy spec engine from a 1.8 19 lump? and can you just chip the standard ECU with a willy spec chip? also i keep hearing about a mo-tech ECU would that solve any prolems?

no, you cant make a willy spec engine from a 1.8.

Didn't you ask this already in another thread?

well i got you telling me i cant and other people saying that i need a diff crank, bores, pistons and a willy spec head and ECU and im sorted, is this all un-true then?? sorry to ask wice but i want to pick the right road for bigger power for the least amount of money,

what about just getting all the parts on the list of parts needed for a low comp turbo conversion and getting that fitted profesionally (or most by myself) would that be a better package than a willy engine or the F7R engine?

****i have been show the thread for the conversion My bad my informant was incorrect*****
