I have a R19 Chamade ph1 16v and want to install 6x9" instead of my 6,5" (This is back in the car above the backseats).

How can I do this? The problem that I think of is that the hole is for a 6,5" and not bigger. And I cant enlarge it cuz it is metal and I do not want to destroy to much.

Do you have any ideas?

Cheers!

ok heres the lowdown dont cut it! can be a mot failure! as it structial

2nd is the 6x9's come with a template, make 2 of them out of MDF at least a inch thick, then mount the speakers to the MDF then screw it all down to the metal. will lift the up so they fit without the cage hitting the metal, also you can buy the templates ready made if you do feel you can't do it. spray them black to finish Thumbs Up!

its in way shape or form an mot failure!

thats the method used in theguide but i done that and the shelf was all wonky and ithe wood wasn;t thick enough to clear the basket, maybe on cheaper crapper 6x9's it would have.

PMSL, the only way to fit them in the original shelf is to cut.

you could also have a new shelf made (customoised) to get round the problem but tbh, some cutting will always be required.
