 a little oil problem

just servicing the megane (knew it was a mistake before i started)

oil that came out, black but ok

more oil in the expantion tank than water "D`oh"

looks like new head gasket ?? (but no water in the oil)

or could another seal have gone?

or head gone porus like red tops do

balls

now a big oil problem cleaned out the exp tank, took out for a mile round the block. power is still there but the oil is back and loads of it.
and to top that off the oil light now on.
oil level thre quarters the way up the dipstick(and still not water in the oil)

compresion test
1 = 14 bar
2 = 12 bar
3 = 10 bar
4 = 14 bar


OK head gasket buggered

chris was going to change to engine in the summer anyway.
as when i got it, it felt a little wrong!!!
so have a spare engine and box ready to drop in.
just going to get changed tomorrow instead.

i remeber the day when you just took the
fuel line, coil lead, starter lead, alteranor lead, drive shafts, engine mounts, speedo cable, exhaust, coolant pipes
and lifted the engine out (and at this point bloody earth strap)


now how many wires (i am going to have fun putting the engine in tomorrow night) Confused Confused Confused

Its not that bad on the valver engines tbh. Just remember the lambda sensor! and the pseedo cable!

ba****rd centre mount doing my head in.
could not get engine back it due to the mount now got it off!

will it fit back on once the engine is in place as i can`t seem to get it lined up , as well as line the rest of the mounts up ??
