Call me a tart (waits for it) but no way would i ever put anything branded with Max Power on my car!! K&N will last you longer and will do its job better, im my opinion you should get the cleaning kit for 12 quid and restore it to its former glory! Just make sure its completely dry before you re oil it and dont go nuts with the oil! new kits should come with an aerosol oil, if its the squidgy bottle take it back.

Heat shield of some sort will help the filter, or at least some good ducting, otherwise your just sucking in that hot engine bay air...

And what are you going to reoil it with? Dextron 3? Rolling Eyes Or maybe some cooking oil, in the same room as your fairy liquid!

it may be branded Max Power on the box but there is certainly no logo of any sort on the filter itself and it does a surprisingly good job.
I mean we are not looking for mahoosive power gains from an IK, 3-5 bhp at most (if you are lucky) but it certainly helps cold air get into the throttle body, better than the standard box and it does make a nice little roar when you give it a bootfull lol

i have one on my 19 and am more than happy with it, rather spend £5 on one of those than £90 on a pipercross for the same effect

I honestly cringe when I read about people paying £150 or some daft amount for one of the 'viper' air filters. Especially when it's on a 1.4 or something.

Then I realise that I'm clearly in the wrong business and selling overpriced overhyped gimmicky car parts to clueless boy racers is the way forward!

Replacement filter elements are the way forward on clio/r19's. Cheap, when it gets dirty you buy a new one...only 20 odd quid. Airbox sheilds it from those nasty under bonnet temps!

Im looking at getting a "Green" element next, as the ITG im currently running needs oiled and i dont like it.

I'm sure chris will put me right but surely light oil being drawn into the engine aint a great thing for it! My inlet manifold is caked in oily dirt from it! Rolling Eyes

Would rather a dry filter...but im picky! Wink

oily dirt is from the breathers.

19 16V need the induction kit, the clios suffer the 19's benefit, more mpg and faster to.

I got a grubby one on my donor car and was told putting it in the washing machine should do the trick! If you're gonna chuck it away theres no harm in sticking it on a wool wash (no spin) and seeing how it goes.

I've got the induction kit for a Sierra Cosworth on mine now lol. Thought it was time for a change! It's considerably bigger than the pipercross I had on there before.......

Not the best angle of pic, but you get the rough idea.

I got a pipe extending it to be right in the corner aswell. Can't decide if that hinders it or helps it cuz it's kinda 'enclosed' now, rather than having space all around it like. But I got plenty of cold air feed pipes goin to it, so I reckon it does alright. Sucking-in-of-air noise is pretty much louder than the engine now Laughing
