Got hold of a Race X filter for the 19, put that on & took the K&N off. It seem's to have a bit more poke, that down to it been a new filter, or are K&N that crap.

some one told me that Air box's are better, if you look at a valver box after the filter, there a lot of air there. bloke told me that when you kick the thottle down it sucks that in, as it's allready passed the filter. then more air come's in to fill it. with a indution kit, the air as to go tho' the filter first. before you get the kick from it.

i dont think the restriction has much to do with it...the problem is more to do with drawing in hot air from the engine bay as opposed to cold air provided by the airbox and feed from bumper....

you'd be better off pokin that cold air feed into the end of the filter opening i think...so that its ONLY source is from the cold end of it....90% of air goin into that filter will be hot air from the surrounding engine bay.

The two mains things are how restrictive (airflow wise) the filter mesh is and how well it shields inducted air from ambient temp.

the only prob there is with the heatshiled missing is meltign wires on the ABS if fitted, aside from that it just cooksthe brake fluid eventually.

Like I said, deal with it, move on, give Chunk a hug or something.

That any better, seem to have a little more poke in 3rd. Cold air feed in fed down side of rad to the vent on the front bumper next to the bottom of the rad. Also K&N was second hand when I got it, and was full of muck.
