righty anyoenm in the Glasgoiw area knwo where I can get replacement alternator brushbox's/rectifier packs/regulators?

I have tired a few places and all come back with not stocked em for at least 5 years pal which isn;t very helpful to me at all.

Or is there some alternator specialist on the forum that will tell me you can use a 60A brush pack on a 70A alt and it will be fine cos they are the same on the outside?

Yes, the 60amper will do it if it looks the same. And if it doesn't blame the cat

well updatey peopleypowqjdpqwf my new language.

Can't get one then I thought about it. The original alt had no trouble charging the battery it was only the diodes that had gone. So the rectifier pack was ok.

So I removed the alt off the car, broken positive terminal, took pics so I'll put em in my progress report. So hopefully thats the problem.

Whilst I had the 2 alt's off i swapped the regulators, the one thats on the car has the original valeo one and its brushes are pretty much gone. The other is a 3rd party replacement but plenty of brush length so its on the now.

I went to halfords to buy a new ring terminal but ended up havin g to get battery terminals its to dark to do any more work so it will wait until tomorrow, hopefully it will be charging itself again!
