Oh and sorry for the short reply Mr Neo, but you would not believe the amount of mostly daft questions I get. Also we were allowed to replace the chip back in the good old days.

were my questions daft?

if you answered them properly maybe you would not get such a hard time of it on here.
All we want is proof your chips do as you state.
I personally would be very interested spesh as my superchip has blown up hence my email to you in the first place.

and the clio cup championship is still running, regs were quoted from thier official site for the championship and you can view the teams for 2005.

Dipheads eh?

If doing some research on a product/mod that costs £75, is often found to be less effective than claimed, and carries no quantitative measure of benefit, before spending out makes you a diphead, then that's what we all are i would guess.

Sorry Mr Neo but you are quoting the Clio 172 cup. Different car+ diff championship=diff regs. Anyroadup, if you need a chip and have a good spare ECU how about a swap for a chip? I do put the odd ECU on ebay for those who cannot rechip one themselves . But finding ones in good nick is hard. If you are interested email me and I will get back to you. By the way, your mates at J-R Tuning have had one. And left pos feedback. so am I a bad bugger after all? Who knows!!!

Thanks for your reply, i do have a good spare ECU, its the one that currently has the buggered superchip on it, i have tested the ECU with a standard chip and it works fine, also lucky in the fact it has a socket on it and does not need the chip soldering in Smile
I have no problems with doing a swap for the ECU for one of your chips, i'll even throw in the superchip with it, you may be able to remap it with your hardware.

I am also willing to support your product if they do what they claim, i have rolling road sheets for the superchip when it was fitted and it took the car up to 144bhp from standard 137bhp.

And we never claimed you was a bad bugger, you would help yourself if you could post either on your auctions or sites like this something that would help back it up, i am sure that would increase your sales too Smile

I would love to see some pics of the clio's you ran in the championships.
having owned a clio and watching the BTCC when they ran R19's in it was what got me into the valvers in the first place.

Shall i use the same email address that you replied to me on ebay ?

and call me Simon, lol.

just checked out the official renault page for the Clio Cup Championship and in the rules and regulations sections for cars being entered.

section 5.8:

NO MODIFICATIONS TO THE ENGINE AND ANCILLIARIES OR ENGINE MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS ARE PERMITTED.

SECTION 5.8.3.2:
The engine and electronic control unit (ECU), are sealed using metallic and paint sealing systems.
SECTION 5.8.3.3:
The seals may only be broken with the permission of the series Eligibility/Safety Scrutineer or his appointed representitive
SECTION 5.8.3.5
Any engine not bearing Renaultsport seals, or of which one ore more seals are missing shall be considered to be non-compliant with the technical regulations.

so i would say that those chips were never used in the clio cup, if they were then he was breaking the regulations and should be stripped of any championships he won or of course his claims in the auction are bullshit.

yep was going to say that all one make championships have sealed engines gearbox's diffs and ECU's so if his claims are true then i'm sure the barc renault uk and the msa scrutineers would be very interested on which cars used it and in which races.

ps the engines were sealed in the renault sport factory as were the ECU's and gearbox's.

Ok, lets give this guy a break, i've been corresponding with Mick in email and he has given me lots of extra information including pics of his clio.

With your permission Mick can i post one of the clio pics here?

He is also letting me have a chip in exchange for one of my spare ECU's and has said i can do any test i want on it.

So for the mo, lets not jump the gun and see how this all pans out Smile

Just to put things straight, we purchased a chip from "Pennyduck" simply out of curiousity as to test its settings. To-date the chip is still in its packaging and has not been touched as we haven't had the time to get round to testing it yet.

Exclamation Positive feedback was left regarding the quick delivery time and correspondance only Exclamation

So guys, to date cannot comment on its performance or lack thereoff.

cheers,

John @ JR-Tuning Ltd.

John, item was purchased on 10th March. Feedback was left 16th March. Your post was left on the 11th APRIL. If only motorsport + R&D was as laid back as this!!!!

I know. i know but as i said its hard trying to get round to all the things we'd like to do aswell as running a business. We try and line things up in advance so i reckon it will be near the end of the year before we even get round to opening your package Very Happy Although, to end this thread i might push it up the list a bit and see if i can put this arguement to an end! Wink

Anyway, R&D must be laid back if you're selling chips with set-ups that were used in the '95 championship, 10yrs ago!!! Wink

What a load of tripe.
Wished I had a company that was as busy as yours selling other peoples products. Please do not bust a gut in pushing this up your list as there are a number of independent guys on RR website testing this. They will be giving their honest opinion after this weekend.
