316.01 quid for an exchange rack is fecking silly money, thats what I mean!

that one on e-bay is a different rack, must bo for the transverse cars and the longitude ones are different.

yes you can change to a non ps rack.

id rather stick to PAS, iv had a 19 before without it and its crap, but saying that the power steering on 19's are crap anyway.

Having had a couple of 1.4 19's before i have used them without PAS. I never really though that the PAS on the 19 was that great anyway as it is still quite heavy. At the end of the day if the manual rack is cheaper I'll have that instead ( if I need one)

Thats why it is good! None of this light as a feather playstation steering wheel feel you get on more modern cars!

If you go with a manual rack you move the strut top mounts to the other set of holes in the top of the turrets to change the castor angle to make it easier to turn.

That's probably a very good point. Drove my mums rover 200 1.6 and the pas on that was stupidly light. You could literally use one finger to do a 3 point turn. Her new focus isn't great either.

The 19 however does feel great at higher speeds with the steering being fairly heavy it feels more stable I guess.
