Are they taking the p*ss?

I had my clutch replaced on my car in May last year. About a month ago my car broke down and I finally had it looked at the other day. Clutch is gone again.

So I phone the garage and tell em that surely its not right that a clutch I paid Â£150 for a little over a year ago is buggered so soon, especially as i live on a small island and barely do 5000 miles a year.

They say that they'll check the warranty on the clutch but the labour doesn't come under warranty so i'll have to pay that for them to remove my old clutch and send it back to the manufacturers and then if the manufacturers say its buggered due to driver error then I'll have to pay for the new clutch too.

In total it cost me Â£300 to have it done last time, and kinda get the feeling that they're taking the p*ss a bit.

probably because youre female they think they can get one over on you.

Stick to your guns, that clutch shouldnt be dead yet.

if the clutch is gone Hanna the clutch is gone.

They can last 200k or 2k, depends on your driving and luck really. Look at Ben/Addie/Huw's ph2 chamade, the clutch in that wasn't old and it went bang.

What is the actual problem?

Something to do with the fly wheel or something. It'll go into 5th anyway but none of the other gears.

well you can put it in any gear when the engine isn't running but the engine wont start. It'll start in 5th tho

what the engine won't actually turn but it will turn and make the car jump forward?

it'll do that in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th but the engine will actually start in 5th

intresting, box might be fubbard then.

Might just be the clutch, won't know till its out though.

I've had it looked at by a mechanic and he says definately the clutch. I just want know know how i stand on the warranty being as it was only replace a year ago and i don't know whether they are trying to take the p*ss. Girls with pretty faces aren't usually all that intelligent Wink
