picked up this adapter pc9-101 cheap secondhand off a guy on cliosport. Its definately the right one to go between the 19 and my sony HU, but when i plug it in, the stalk doesnt work, and the controls on the HU itself stop working.

Anyone got any ideas?

There is a single red wire that comes off the adapter with a male and female bullet connector on it, but i cant find anywhere to plug this in, is it important?

the adaptor lead you have spare will probably be a mute for the phone.

It shoudl plug and play unless the adaptor is wrong.

The first thing I bin is that crappy renault remote.

i tried bodging the spare wire onto the +12v and it works perfectly. now just need to sort out a permanent connection.

I quite like the remote.... its better than nothing anyway...especially with the tiny little buttons on my HU

the remotes cack, never liked it.

i only use pioneer heads cos I don't like sony's etc so just use the butons, although I did have a remote which you strapped to the wheel for an old head ages back, binned that.

i could never see the point of a stalk controller thing...its not as if the head unit is ever out of reach!

i wouldnt choose Sony if i had the choice either, but I was given this one.... wasnt going to say no!

trying to change volume properly (tiny little knob) or trying to change track without pressing the wrong button and changing CD (4 way button thing) on mine while the car is moving about is tricky.

End of the day its a preference i suppose, and I prefer it... was only a few quid anyway!
