As ive posted a while back before.

I have a 1.6 16v megane. Found the tensioner etc, but cant access it... even with the engine lifted by a far whack.

Will the tensioner move at all if i cut off the old belt - even enough for me to totally untension it. Cheers

Usually find aux belts quite easy, but there is no way I can access this tensioner in any way, shape or form without, it seems, dropping the engine a bit (which I'd rather not do). The car's done 70k and this hasn't been changed at all (Timing belt has).

Just some pointers would help a bit thats all.

put the engine back as it was then use a 3/8ths short extension with ratchet on the tensioner, easy.
