Hi guys, since the car wasn't running as i wanted the idle was a little hunty and sometimes when pulling away or changing gear it was a little stuttery, I cleaned the ICV and the throttle body. Both had a nice coat of sh*t on it. I have put it all back together now it runs much smoother then it did before the only nasty thing is before the big cleaning it did run 950rpm stationary (if it didn't hunt at idle). Now after the cleaning it's at 1250 ish and sometimes at 1400.

What could be the problem here? I checked if i had disturbed some cabling and cleaned and refitted the connectors of everything in that neighborhood. When cleaning the TB i didn't change anything and left te idle screw in and where it always have been (as the white thingy is still in front of it!

Help would be appreciated!?

did you split the gasket?

Nope not that I know of, it was loose and i took it away cleaned it up a bit and re-used it. But it isn't damaged.

What's the best way to rule out if it's the ICV or the TB???

Squeeze closed the tube from the ICV.

If the idle settles down its the ICV or something telling the ICV to open.

Oke I did that and it makes no difference, the only thing it does is make my k&n whistle Smile I did check the TB after that and found out I do hear some air clipping in somewhere around the gasket i presume this could be the cause of my problem right?? Is it smart to put some sealant in between the gasket or am i better of ordering a gasket?? If so does anyone have a part number??

just get some blue hylomar on it.

Changed the gasket no difference it's still a damn bit to high. So this time I woke my dad up to come help me and check everything again. I loosened the hose before the ICV to be able to seal it proper. At that point the idle settled down to a nice 800-850 rpm and the engine sounded really lovely much easier then with the ICV connected the normal way. The only doesn't hunt either. So I think my ICV might be f*cked.

That makes get to a question... Can I fix the darn thing or find out what might be causing this problem? If so how and if not what would be the best place to get one?

You could probably get one from a scrabby for next to nothing, one off a clio 16v or 19 16v will fit - not sure if theres a difference but someone did once say to me that the idle was different when they tried a 19 16v one on a clio 16v. Although i have on on my valver now and its fine! Hit or miss i guess!

if its the hose befpore the ICV then I would imagine the hose might be blocked with something, make sure its clear.

The hose before and the hose after the ICV are nice and clean. I've cleaned them out and could look through them! Any other ideas chris? It's really irritating it idles around 1200-1400 rpm

is the ICV wire in good condition?

the fact it went fine when you were touchign the hoses tells me either a blockage or a possible wiring issue

can you not just disconnect the ICV plug and see what difference it makes may be Rolling Eyes

This is the same sort of problem I've been through.

Renault diagnostic maybe the best way to go. If they want to know.

I just had bad luck with the TPS part being out of stock.

You may end up changing everything - like I did - and still not find it.
