Jumped in the car last night it started fine. got down the road and noticed it wasn't pulling like it should. pulled over and moticed the idle was rough, it sounded like an old skoda cough and bubbling (in a bad way). went to pull away and noticed alot of smoke from exhaust and that it took ages to gain revs it was like a bag of shit to drive. on the way home the temp shot up above 2/3 mark. can anyone give me an idea of a diagnosis for what might be happening.
thanks

top it up and see what happens then.

but the description you gave sounds like the gaskets gone between a cylinder and a waterway. Thus the smoke and bad idle and poor pickup.
