Well I'd dibs it, but I'm in York.

If anyone wants to get it for me, I'd obviously pay them for it + time, but you'd probably buy it and sell it on instead Sad

Why are they never up north!? Sad

Thats the one i was asking about in the tech section. I had arranged to go and have a look on saturday but if someone gets there first then fair enough, (says as muttering swear words under his breath!).

Yeah it gets like that. I got my black one off the other forum - I done the deal and went to get it sharpish so as not be gazumped.

I've learnt all too many times that if its a bargin, collect and buy there and then. Even handing over a deposit isn't enough (as Pierre found out) - and I found out when I bought a Cream Suede Sofa for £100, and got Guzumped for £500! Ouch!

Yeah i saw the ad for your black one on the other forum Neal but i dont have enough knowledge to go and buy a dead one and fix it there and then like you did. If the one we are talking about turned out to be anything other than something simple i was going to leave it and mention it on here, bit late now though!

Regardless of the problem, if the car is worht the sum of its parts then buy it IMO.

£165 =
6mts TAX (£90)
4x Alloys & Tyres (£60)
Odds & Sods (£15)

Buy it!

Thats true enough, but i wouldnt have been able to get it home if it didnt work hence my 'something simple' theory. Same thing as with you and that grey valver, although the distance does differ slightly!

AA Membership? "My car has just broken down" - and your mate "Came to try and help me to start it". Problem solved.

I could do that with the grey one, but the deciding factor wasn't just the distance but might be moving soon so holding off for one that goes for now.

I dont have AA membership (which is a bit stupid considering the kind of cars i tend to buy), but does that little scam actually work? Have you done it before?

On my occasions then I care to remember. Not a 'scam' in the true sense of the word. You have a car thats broken down, AA recover you. The fact it was broken before you bought it is irrelevant!

just plip the doors locked and unlocked with all doors, hatch and bonnet shut, that will do the trick heh

i'm betting its got the gay revision of the ECU that requires the plipping to reset it.
