Is it possible to fit bigger brake discs and calipers from another car such as clio 172 or laguna to phase 1 clios/ 19s. If so what car is the best and what size disc can you go up2

I'm assuming your taking about your J plate Clio 1.4?

What brakes do you have already, Lucas (two piece 'normal' looking Calipers) or Bendix (one piece crap calipers?).

By far the easiest and cheapest conversion you can do is fit 16v spec 256mm discs, pads, calipers and carriers to your Clio.

You will need to get hold of some second hand Calipers, Carriers and Bolts (essential if you have Bendix as they use huge bolts) from the scrap yard. You can take these second hand calipers to GSF who will part-ex them against some reconditioned calipers for just £40 cash. Buy some new discs/pads while your there and the whole conversion can cost you under £80 - this is what I did on my 1.4 R19 and it was awsum, especially with the recon calipers.

You could even get drilled/grooved 256mm valver discs if you so desire.

Yes, you can fit a BB/K-Tech big brake conversion - but a pointless for this application.
