I've read in haynes how to do it and I've got the jist of it but what I'm looking for is some tips, how to get the space between the body and the boot to a miniumin, at the moment I can nearly stick a finger in it.
And it might be adding to the rattling when the sub is on, I know for a fact the rear wiper spazzes out also.

I figure slack the two bolts inside the car holding the hinges, but where should I have the boot - in the air? and should I take the bolts all the way out etc..

Haynes can be a bit sketchy with things.

take the plastic cover things off the headlining, theres 2 13mm nuts, loosen them then with it shut move the tailgate to the position you want then go in the car and tighten them. Its easy.
