right sorted a car out for my friend at last ,i have been posting on here

about the search for a clio or a similar small size car .found a 1,1 fiesta

g. reg /white 43500miles on the clock and yes its genuine .the car is in

very good condition for its age no major rust no dents whatsoever . just

missing a passenger side mirror and the drivers side lock dont work as it

should(it locks but wont unlock ) which is a usual problem with fiestas

as the lock do wear after a time .

the car has 9months tax (worth 85-90 quid) and 5 months mot on it.

now what sort of price do you people think i bought it for ??????

Best thing about those fiesta's is that once your in 4th theres virtually no reason to change gear unless your stopping.

what i noticed while driving as well is that their steering is much softer than the god damm clios .
do fiestas have the wiring at the doors to let you fit electric windows on them ?

the fiestas are not bad.

1.1 HCS lumps are survivors.

Not to the loom in doors Q, there might be one in the dash, it depends on the model you have really.

before you get new locks get the key number and get a key made at ford, costs about 8 quid.

You will probably find the lock works properly again.

hate ford keys.

my TD burnt about 2 litres of oil when i went to london last year....600 miles - 2 litres...oil light came on the next morning, wasn't even registering on the bottom of the dipstick :S Filled it up with oil and it felt like a totally different car. Engine was a tad poorly at the time though Razz

yes the keys wear and funny things happen.

The ignition might work the boot lock might work but the doors and petrol cap stop working from the key but if you have a spare they all work, Get a new key and they all work again.

Its weird but it happens a lot.

M plate SPI 1.1 fiesta managed an indicated 105 4 up going to Irvine, that was a laugh, thing made some racket.

MY house key opens most ford fiestas, but the good thing about them is that you can buy almost any spare for them for about a fiver at most breakers,..... I do have some XR2i bits at home somewhere if you are interested,

the lock on passenger side looks ferked from outside ,i thought that might be the main reason but yesterday while i was messing with the lock i managed to unlock it just once and that was it. i sprayed some wd40 into the lock holes now will wait and see if it dont work ,i will take the door card out and have a look otherwise will go for a new key .
