As some of you know, the Bendix rear brake proportioning valve is very hard to find these days, and very expensive if you can. I saw a Vauxhall Zafira one for a tenner and it looked like it was virtually the same functionally/dimensionally as the Renault one so I bought it to try.

So today I removed the valve off the black hatch and compared against the Vauxhall one.

Looks like it's going to fit to me.

One thing to note is that the 2 threaded mounting holes are on the wrong side, so I'll have to drill them right through and tap, but that's no big deal really.

Old valve is siezed pretty much solid BTW

Well I'm not going to attach it with superglue!

One of the holes is already there on the correct side, but with no thread. I reckon it will be ok to drill the other one too, perhaps not all the way through though, sure!
