 bumper screw clips

righty another day messign around with the blue car I managed to get 1 lower rear bumper bolt out the other was nearly out the the metal cage snapped.

Now I have looked on dialogies and I can't find the bit I need, maybe someone else can help me.

Dialogies has somehtign in the same position that looks worng and theres no way that costs 7 quid either! I have used another thing for the moment but I want the right bit.

oh them buggers. Useless they are.

I pulled em off and used some of that metal strip with the holes/slots in it that people use for... well... im not really sure what they use them for actually.

Well you see Neal I am getting these strange urges.

I have felt them before. They lead to total loss of social life, loss of lot sof money and unholy things with toothbrushes and cotton buds.

Yes thats right concours...

Thing is I am trying to persuade myself otu of it, what the feck am I gonna do with 2 concours chammys?

yeah but you cant even see them so the car can still be concours if you use an alternative.

yeah but like I said its a disease, you know its there.

MGB flywheel bolts, theres crash washers with fold over tabs. Horrible design, its far better to use loctite on the bolts and leave the washers off.

Fair enough. But on a concours car, that will niggle away at you until you pull the lump out and do the job the way it was originally done even if that way was crap!

Whilst I was under the back of the blue un doing them, I saw the bubbling paint I ignored it last year, but I prodded it today, its still just surface rust! So a good clean up then use a rattle can on it then underseal it.

Rattle cans ok underneath.

hmm my dialogies gives the part 77 00 785 483 bkt bumper r19

item 6 on the drawing, don't look a whole lot like the bracket in your pic.

nope thats not them, 6 and 11 are the bits that are rivetted to the shell just behind the arch and the frontmost tip of the bumper screws into them.
