Can it be removed "safely"?

Or how exactly does it work?

I'm thinking of whether i can use it with the emerald

yes

by the magic of fairies. its constantly vented to the tank, the solenoid is activated by the ECU to allow vapours to be sucked into the engine and burned. Only operates at operating temp and little load.

dunno maybe.

yes.

the canister is filled with charcoal (no shit eh!) which is vented at the bottom, the theory is the hc's cling to the carbon until its subjected to a vacuum (solenoid activating)

2 fuel pipes run fromt he tank to the engine, alongside them is the nice soft charcoal canister vent pipe.

block it at the tank end and bit the canister and its associated gubbins.
