and as for filling up over there; that looks like what i'll end up doing, just wanted to avoid the hassle of looking for one at 2am in the morning and then trying to communicate with the grumpy (i assume, working at 2am an all) french man at the till Razz

According to my aunt, the automated machines only take french cards. DIdn't like mine last time at any rate...

Yes when I think of it you will need a chip and pin card.

I have a UK card that has this now.

But the magnetic strip cards will not work.

The grumpy guys were best. Now they are all out of work, replaced by even more grumpy fuel vending machine repair persons who you (hopefully) never get to meet.
