well due to the rear mount being broken the engine has dropped so the putty is actually filling a 5mm wide hole which is abotu an inch long.

I will stick the hatches centre section on the thing and a de-cat as well.

Hopefully that can wait. I have an mot tomorrow I doubt it will pass.

I bought mine from Renault

For a 19 16v they are £2.34 each but had to remove the front one as it wouldn't seal properly due to rust etc.

So had to bodge it with filler anyway.

Cheers Ben.

Yes it has the sanwich type gasket, and its blown big holes in itself top and bottom.

The plan is to use the hatches mid section on the thing and make up a de-cat pipe so rust on the rear side shouldn't be a prob.

My old gaskets came off in lots of rusty pieces.

Also just thought I would ask, does a de-cat 'bed in'?

It's just that the first couple of days after I fitted it, it had this metallic raspy nova-ned type sound which now has thankfully disappeared.

Hi Chris i'm new on here. am from other forum. My 16v did this and it turned out to be a warped flange. It sealed at the bolts but had a huge gap in the middle top n bottom.

Bridges thats the prob, but i reckon its due to the broken rear mount, the engine has dropped so has the exhaust so thats made a big hole.

But due to this the gasket has totally gone.
