ive searched for an answer to this on forum but cant find anything so sorry if its been asked before

this w/end im going to put a cd in as ive not got the code for the radio thats in it, my question is can i still use the volume bit on the steering colum, or do i have to do away with that bit ie just leave it disconnected?
ive not taken the old one out yet so dont know whats behind there

it depends on the cd player and you can buy adaptors for them.

The remotes called an LMU btw. What it stands for no one knows.

what you need is an adaptor from halfords for a sony cd/mp3 player mate make sure you buy a sony make joystick comaptiable player otherwise the adaptor wont work .

also when you take your old unit out ,you will see the red multi pin plug attached to the player and a seperate multi pin plug for the lmu .
also the aerial plug for the radio .

what you do is to connect the adaptor from halfords to the lmu multi pin and stick the other ends of the apaptor to the back of the sony player ,sony player will probably need a new renault male multi pin plug as well to fit in to the original red multi pin plug for speakers ,power and earth etc

thanks mate, as it happens i did get a sony cd/mp3, bit of luck eh so ill go back to halfords and get a adaptor
