yeah, the engines been sitting back and towards the r/h side, at the top of the cam cover its about 15mm away from r/h strut, so last nite i removed the rear engine mount of my hatch which i changed in the numerous gearbox swaps i did!!
anyway it come off quite easy cos the lower exsahust mainfold bit was off, im just looking for tip on the best way to fit it to the chamade, i would be on with it now but itas raining, so i thought id ask if anyone has a good way of doing it!

also might do the front two (cos thay are newer and in better nick than the chamades)also cosi removed them last nite too, esily done with no front bumper in the way, any ideas on how to do the r/h side on with the bumper on??
cheers

Rear donut mount is something I will never change again. It was a nightmare on the energy and even worse on the valver. To be honest if you had a hoist you would save yourself a lot of time and effort whipping the lump out and changing it.

yeah it is a pain in the arse. I did mine while the head was off. Even then it wasnt easy.

Dont know if its possible with the complete engine in the car. would have to guess no, at least not for us DIY mechanics with no 4 jack or pit.

Chris H and I managed it twice I think on the 19's, you can do it but you need someone under the car and another person (Maybe 2) to pull the engine about in the bay to possition it

like i said i did the one in my hatch in about 1hour on my own, and it was getting dark,
just thought id ask if its easyer removing the front 2 first or any tips like that!!
im gonna give it a go now, the bolts arnt much of a problem just gotta be pacitent snanner, cos theres no room for a ratchet!! any way witha a jack under the lump moving it up and down it'll come out, but thats the prbolem moving the gearbox/engine braket enough to get swap the mount, then youve gotta put the bolts back in eeeeckkk!!!! ill tell you how it goes!!!!

front 2 mounts will help definately, if yours is anything like mine was then the gearbox one will be virtually in 2 bits!

Also, check the bracket thing that goes between the engine block and the rear mount and if necessary tighten up the bolts that hold it to the block, mine was well floppy.

Yeah that happened to me, wheel spun off on a corner next minute the car was not driveable. Block mount had split, jumped up and landed on the subframe bracket, couldn’t get the car into any gear. At first I thought I had blown the box, had to get Chris to come and kick the engine back into place (I have dainty legs and didn’t want to chip my manicured toe nails)
