Hi Chris - Do you know of anyone or garage in or around Portsmouth. I seem to have almost every problem listed on this forum. 1st /2nd gear selection, a knock when accelerating, noisy tappets. Its a R reg megane.

cheers anyway - London's a bit far. By the way - if the clutch cable is taken off the clutch fork is it supposed to wobble around really freely?

You could try ren-tech mate. I've seen loads of people commending them on some clio sites as the owner is on some clio sites and gets quite a bit of business from them.

Their website is www.ren-tech.co.uk/

it just puzzles me - when the car is cold - the clutch is fine with no broblem with gear changes (1st/2nd). as soon as it gets a bit of heat especially in traffic the clutch becomes really hard and painful to drive.

Just had a new cluch kit fitted about 500 miles ago (Mr Clutch) - made no change - what a rip off they were. I've got an appointment with rentech tomm morning - I'll get back to you with what he comes up with.
