Right, going along the optherday, suddenly power just dies, and theres no fuel coming from the regulator. - diagnosed as the fuel pump.
Pull the sender unit out the tank, and find the 2 rubber selas in the damper unit absolutly feckered pissing fuel everywhere in the tank.
So, ford cant get it for over a week  so we by pass it with a bit of pipe. but the fuel pump doesnt prime, it turns on with the ignition, and doesnt turn off.
Now, it still doesnt run, fuel is coming out the regulator on the return to the tank. ive tried unplugging the vac line, and blocking it.
But it seems the injectors only fire intermittently, the spark is always there. spray some easy start and it fires up but stops(obviosly because the injectors arent firing.)
Whats next to try!? |

the damper has probably broken up and the filter has probably ruptured and shits got through to the injevtors.
The dampers a joke, I just bin them. mercs and astra gte's etcs use them and if they play up ion the bin right away.
Anyway you need to get checkign the relays, this was the real start of fords bollocks fuse box era, you'll probably have to do a lot of rewiring.
might get luckign and find either couple of dodgy relays or connections to the relay on the board. |

oh, and ive listened to the injectors, and they actually dont fire. they click, then dont for ages, then click a few times then stop. so as you said, check the relays, but the filer was new when this happened last time, and its done, all of 1kmiles since. |

I can;t recal if the 2i uses a restor pack for th einjectors, if it does check it |
