Trying to clean my scummy coolant bottle, came up with a good idea that has made it come up like new (well . . not quite, but its damn clean).

Filled the bottle 1/4 full of hot soapy water, and threw in a hand full of coarse gravel off my drive, lid on and shook like mad.
Removed all the orange crust and scum from inside the bottle.

Took a little bit of work but well worth it.

old trick mate but a good one. I find the best thing is the old tootbrush.

Soap powder is very good

To clean the top I take my lovingly manicured (not) middle finger and put it through the hole and swing it abotu to clean the top of the tank.
