I'm well pleased at the moment - just bought my second clio, but this time it's a 16v. The gearbox is knackered on it and it has a little rust around the arches but other than that it seems in really good condition.

I got it for £500 which I'm quite happy with as it shouldn't cost me that much to get it running again and it's got tax till september and MOT till november.

EDIT: Almost forgot to say that the guy also offered me another 1.4 Clio that was sitting on his drive for free. He said it was his brothers and it had just been sitting there for months so I could take it if I wanted. He couldn't remember what was wrong with it though - just that a garage wanted about £500 to fix it so they didn't bother fixing it and it's just been left on the drive.

lol, how much was yours?

I know you can get cheaper but I'm happy with this as I can get a new gearbox on it fairly cheaply and other than the gearbox the car is quite nice.

Jees, that was a good buy. It's not everyday they come along quite that cheap and in such good condition though. Have you got any pics?

I forgot to say as well that mine has 80,000 on the clock, it's lowered quite a bit, had 16's on it and comes with an alpine head unit. I'll probably sell the wheels and head unit and use the ones off my current clio.

I'm going to try and find out about it mate. The guy really has no idea of what the problem was but he was going to speak his brother to see if he could remember. TBH if it's something I could manage myself I might consider fixing it and selling it on. The only problem with that is that my dad would go off his head if I had three clios on the drive at once, lol. Most likely I won't bother with it though - in which case it would be all yours. It's a 5 door 1.4 RT but I can't remember what reg it was as I didn't pay that much attention to it - the only thing I looked at was that it had a bit of a dent in the bonnet.

lol, I would be happy enough about it - but my old man is moaning enough that I will have two cars on the drive and I think three would push him a bit too far.

I could do but I quite fancy giving it a go myself as I can take my time to it as I still have my 1.4 to use till I fix up the 16v.

Chris - I was on the phone to the guy earlier and he says that the other clio has been sitting on the drive for the last ten months and if I want it I can take it as it would be doing him more of a favour than anything. He said it was running when left there but it had some sort of problem which was going to cost about £400 to fix at a garage so they just left the car. He's going to speak to his brother to see exactly what was wrong and he'll tell me on saturday when I go to collect the 16v. I'm guessing it won't have any MOT or TAX though if it's been sitting there that long. All he said was that if I wanted it I could come and collect it.

lol ,you wouldn't have to collect tomoroow mate - it's just that I'm picking up the 16v tomorrow. You could probably pick it up anytime the guy was free TBH, but if you want I can just let you know more about it saturday night and even get some pics and details of milage etc?

Now I've just got to hope fourth gear holds up getting the 16v home as I don't fancy driving home with just 1st and 2nd, lol.
