No problem I will do. I'll be speaking to him later this week anyway as he didn't put the MOT certificate in with the documents for the 16v but he's going to get them and some other stuff and phone me tuesday.

Do you think you'll be through this way anytime soon? Just because that way I could get him to hold on to it at least till you have a look.

mmm, I have been looking at the 16v more closely and things don't seem quite right. The gaps between the bumper and the wheel are different on either side and the wing isn't on properly on the passenger side. As well as that I don't know how I'm going to sort the bonnet. I was getting worried that the damage from his "wee crash" was a lot worse than the guy let on, but now I'm not sure at all. I'll get the bumper, bonnet and wings etc off at some point to get a better idea of any damage luring beneath.

I took the car out for a wee drive as well and it pulls to the left quite strongly when you let go of the wheel (as you often do;)) so I don't know if that's somehow linked to the crash it had or if that's just down to something else. I also managed to reduce the car to two gears. When I took it out I wasn't going to put my foot down - but then I hit about 70 in fourth and lost drive, lol. It was only along the road though so I drove home in second.

Chris - I'll let you know tommorrow about the car and if the guy has the keys as I'll be speaking to him tomorrow.

lol, no chance it would hold out as you can hear something rattleing about inside and all sorts. I'm just going to put another box on and then see how it drives. If it doesn't seem right then I'll probably just sell it on and if it's OK I'll keep it.

I managed to retrieve one of the pics of the 1.2 clio - the others just aren't happening. Here's the car of your dreams:

And also to show you what the bonnet is like on the 16v:

I just get the felling it's never been repaired properly after the accident it had because behind the wing the metal surround for the headlight is bent out the way so the wing won't line up and the screw to hold the wing in down at the bottom right isn't in place. If you look you will see where the bonnet is nearly touching the door and where it has been hitting as you close it. They are only wee things but there's a receipt for about £1400 worth of work but it doesn't look like it was done to a very high standard.

The 1.2 does indeed look ok there Mr H. You can't quite see the dent in the bonnet on it - it's just to the left of the renault badge.

most clios I have seen the doors scrub the bonnet! Its not unusual!

When I come over I will have a look at it and tell you whats bent or not as the case may be.

Yeah, it's not that clear in the photos - would be clearer if you saw it in person.

lol, naples is the best colour (got two of them now) Wink

Yeah, I didn't realise they did the 1.2 with those colour coded bumpers, that's why I thought it was a 1.4 at first.

don't know whats happening at the moment. I got a text from him last night saying he had the MOT certificate for the 16v so i could pick it up anytime. After a few texts I asked if he'd found the keys for the other clio but I've not heard back from him since.

I'll phone him tomorrow anyway to arrange to pick up the MOT from him and I'll see whats what.

I spoke to him earlier on and he has now found the keys. I'm going out to pick up the MOT and sign something on the V5 I missed out on sunday - you could come and see the other clio then if you want?

I'm going to phone him tomorrow to tell him when I'll be there etc. If you could go sunday what sort of time would you want to go?

I'll have to check he'll have everything out of the car by sunday - but can't see it being a problem. He also waid there will be no headunit in the car as he's going to take his CD player out of it.
