Whenever I press the brake and slow to about 10-15mph or less i can hear a very audiable 'clunk clunk clunk' in corrolation to road speed. ITs coming from the back wheels, so presumably somthing is coming in to contact when the car is slowing? Any common faults?

i dunno....have a look around the area...jack the wheels up....spin them....apply a bit of brakes and spin them...see if there is anything out of place...

maybe the rear struts worn loose....

definately only when braking? doesnt do it over bumps, round corners etc?

Mine did the same. Mine turned out to be a warped rear disc, and a binding rear caliper. Sorted both and it never happened again. Might be worth checking.

Well, its just been through its MOT, a warped disc would be a fail? Im pretty sure it does it some times when going left... It does carry on making the noise once i've slowed down and am not longer on the brake. I'll take a proper look at the weekend.

I dont know...dangerous/affected braking perhaps? Anywho...I think the front shafts are buggered, i can make the passenger one rattle by grabbing it with me hand and shakign it...

Right, took the wheel off and started spinnng the disc , it sticks on a certain point, lightly pressed the brakes and spun it...the clunky noise was reproduced. Took the 2 bolts off, and removed the pads, disc span freely although looking at it side on it does look ever so slighly warped. SO thats new discs and bearings I take it?
