As I'm going to be replacing the gearbox on the Clio 16v soon I guess I should also replace the clutch as to my knowledge it's never been changed. Just wondering really what clutch you would suggest?

At the moment I'm probably going to go with the renault clutch, but if anyone has some cheaper but equally good alternatives let me know.

Also, is the clutch from renault about £65 if you exchange your old clutch? I think thats what it said on the dialogys but mine is playing silly buggers again so I can't check.

you may as well change the clutch whilst u have the box out, saves a future job.

as for where to get one, try ebay!

i got mine from ebay for about £25 incl postage (brand new)

dont forget you don't have to look for a clio 16v specific clutch, the one i bought is a R5 GTT clutch which just so happens to be the same as a 19 16v clutch and because of that i would assume a R5 GTT clutch would also fit the clio 16v

Thanks Neo. From peoples experiences are most clutches OK even if not renault ones? I'll have a look at 5GTT clutches as well if they are a straight fit.

I'm not bothered about it coping with high power etc but I just don't want to have any problems with it.

ahh, just found out that standard Renault clutches are just valeo ones. Any suggestions on where to get them a bit cheaper than going to Renault?

There was one on Ebay last night but I didn't realise at the time that they were the same as Renault ones.

Thanks chris. I had a look on GSF earlier and couldn't see them, but I'll check again in a minute as I probably just missed it. I'll try some other places as well.
