 CLUTCH PEDAL

for the last few days my clutch pedal acts weirdly.
i press it fully and stick in gear leave the pedal it comes up but not to the top end and after a few secs it hits the top end like the spring was stuck somewhere .
any ideas pls

If its just the pedal thats acting up then its knackered, new one from renault.

If the actual clutch iself is dragging and allowing lots of slip when the pedal jams then the splines on the input shaft may be covered in crap or the cable may be frayed internally and jamming.

it only jams for a few secs chris ,and its about 1 cm or so and it releases . cant really tell if the clutch is slipping excessively . can it not be a sticky clutch cable ?? is there anywhere i can apply some wd40?

try it, spray wd4-0 at the gearbox end and get someone to press the clutch pedal, you need to pull the inner so the pedal comes back up. In fact doing just that, pulling the cable after th epedals been pressed will tell you if the cables sticking

u got s dodgey clutch anyway....

just found out today that the pedal was actually picking the edge of the mat and it was being hold by the mat before it fully releases again .
now that was easy wont it ?
