 cold start problems

my r19 1.8 rsi MPI seems to be having trouble starting from cold, and when it eventuly does start the idle is lumpy, and sounds as if its missing

any ideas

its hard to start from cold but easy from hot, but its still lumpy hot or cold

Are the plugs in good shape? This might be a probable cause!

it has brand new plugs, iv also noticed that the car seems to be sluggish when its at normal running temp, it also hunts allot when in low gears

well iv changed the ICV and CTS also MAP and the car is still hard ti start in the morning, when the car does finally start i have to keep the revs at 1.5k for about 10 seconds or the engine will die, im really not sure about this one

anyone else got anymore ideas

You could reset the ICU... although that probably ain't it.

you would not need to keep the revs up by foot under normal circumstances ,its all controlled by the ECU. sounds like an ECU related problem Rolling Eyes

wiring issue I would say or dodgy ICV

might be a blown ICV driver in the ECU but it would cause stalling when hot.

wel another update, changed the ICV, and the ECU along with dizzy cap and problem is still there. Crying or Very sad

NGK from my local factors set to 0.90mm, the car seems to run nice after it gets worm, no problems with idle at all

try bunplugging the inlet air temp sender see if it makes a difference.
