Seems my fan starts up every time I turn ignition on and carries on for ages after I have stopped driving.

Only happened since my 2 litre engine was fitted. Was using BBPT low temp sensor and fan switch which got transferred from my Valver engine to the Megane engine....

Any ideas.... Wondering if something is back to front so that it is working opposite to how it should.... Shouldn't come on when just turning the ignition on I guess...

It's come to a head now as I broke down on Thursday and had to be towed back due to idling problems and a drained battery through trying to start car again.

Got car working again after cleaning ISCV and replacing Injection System Temp Sensor, cleaning Breather filters whilst I was at it.

Fan came on as soon as I connected the fully recharged battery again.

Not sure if Fan Switch is a problem. Temperature Gauge Sender could be faulty right next to the Fuel Injection System Temp Sensor I replaced.

There seems to be some outer cable missing showing cable from the multiplug that attaches to the Temp Gauge Sender.

Any ideas?

It does cut out after a while. Just comes on as soon as I yurn engine on and did so when I connected battery back on.

Seems to be working in reverse !!!

If relay had melted would have thought it wouldn't go off at all !!!!!

Lovely electrics

Anyone know where the relay is. No mention in Haynes manual and tried unplugging each relay in fuse box 1 at a time to no avail.

Even stays running when I disconnect the connector to fan switch above the lower radiator pipe....

Thanks Chris.

Any idea where this is most likely to be or is it just best to remove fan and inspect all wiring for it?

Any tips would be appreciated as there is lots of wiring to look at.

wires probably chaffed through somewhere and earthing the relay out.

if its a clio which I assume it is then the anti perc switch may be stuck on, its the lkower sender on the stat housing, unplug it and see if that stops it
