 couple of problems

hi, having a couple of probs with my 19 16v chamade,first off changing the plugs and found oil in 1 & 4,does anyone have any ideas why its there? second prob is when driving the car if i accelerate and decelerate without changing gear there is a whining noise coming from the front of the cae,again any help would be most gratefull.cheers lee

rocker cover gasket is leaking. You might even find the rocker cover bolts are loose and simply tighteneing them up will cure the leak.

poorly tensioned cambelt can do the whine trick but is it from the drivers or passenger side?

check the gearbox oillevel, as the left is the box side, 3rd tends to be the one that whines the most if it is ther box.

where is the filler cap for the gearbox, have had a look and cant seem to find it. you are right with the third gear comment,it tends to be 3rd upwards. cheers chris

front of the gearboxm abotu halfway up you will see a wingnut plug. unscrew it, oil should dribble out.

It if doesn't then it needs topped up. A better option is to change it.

Also if oil does pour out but looks silver get it changed!

done the gearbox oil,unscrewed the plug and the box was as dry as a nunes fanny. fresh oil and no noise. thanks for your help chris
