enigne oil seams to be coming out of the bottom of the box right near the sump but it aint the sump,
the condition of the other engine is as good, but without a leaking seal,
just wanted to fine out how to change it, and if its a split thew engine job well ill stickl the other engine in, do it and sell hatone insted,

yeah if its your 1st time, I stand 50 feet away, touch my toes, place seal on my arse, fart and it goes in perfectly everytime, needs to correct for wind direction etc.

im prtty sure its the engine seal, the oil dripping from that area is thin a black, nothing like gear oil,
and when you say plop it in, remove the flywheel and just pull it out and stick one in its place?

When reattaching the flywheel do new bolts need to be used? Mr Haynes seems to think so.

when your putting the flywheel back on does it matter which way it goes on, i know it which way round it goes on but you know the timing mark things on the edge of the flywheel, what if you were to put it, lets sya a bolt out ie, 2" more round than it was when i took it off?
will this alter the timing or somthing?
cheers

yes that will make it not run my man.

Line the front up via the cambelt pulley, then stick the flywheel on so it aligns with the marking on the gearbox.

I can't remember if the F7P bolts holes are staggered so it can only go on 1 way.

rite the flywheel has gone back on in the correct position thank god! there was only one place in the timing groves where it lined up to put a bolt in the block to stop it from moving, and he use the same one to put it back on cos the engine didnt turn over while the box was off,
so theres no problem there, but after a bit of a drive when the ils hot/thin, i still have the oil leak coming from the gearbox/crank area, im guessing theres still a problem, and if the oil is coming from where i thought it was coming from the main crank seal then its possible its doing it again!!! which means this clutch is only gonna last a few months/weeks, its deffinalty enigne oil, its very thin and black, and its coming from under the gear box, when i cools off im gonna get it up on the ramps n take a look, this is pissing me off!!!
could it be leaking from anywhere else??

cheers
alex.
