car failed to start the other day...as i was in a hurry, typical. dead-ish battery.

tbh for a while the first start of the day has been a bit slow and hesitant, but usually it alwaysjust catches in time. this time it didnt. so i put it on charge for the day, started no probs.

but a few days later now it is starting to slow down again first thing in the morn...

crap battery? its about 4 year old i guess...alt is about same age too.

have you checked the water?

you got decent earths on the car?

If not get some. last week I snapped 4 earth braids with my fingers alone!

water in the battery i presume? Confused and no...no idea how to.

also its just that first start of the day...rest of the day its fine...i think it must be the long stand over night getting cold.

but i'll check the earth's anyway, havent looked at them for a long time.

I would get the earthing sorted. The big pone from the inner wing to the box is normally in a bad way.

Only problem is the bolt on the box likes to chear its head off, unless you get good acess to belt it a few times. So leave that. But on the inner wing undo it, clean it up add another earth and run that directly to the earth ontop of the gearbox.

Battery water, on top of the battery you can either unscrew or pop the cell covers off, if they are dry thats your problem. Ambers megane battery was nearly dry and it was getting pretty bad, put wate rin and that sorted it but I got her a 2litre coupe batteyr for 35 quid anyway.
