how do you get it off metal, namely a rocker cover??? its impossible Sad

Chrome plating I assume you are referring to...best way is some form of dipping in an acid based solution...ask at a chrome platers as they should have these chemicals...not something you can buy at home.

Or if it is in a bad state, then you may be able to sand it off.

tried sanding it, you cant scratch it with a screwdriver either, in exposed alloyarea you can scratch the alloy but not the chrome you cant sand it off Sad me and ben tried from 10 till12 last night Sad

nope dremmel and water wouldnt, gonna be sent for shot blasting

beware the shot blasting will make the aluminium pitted and rough...better off getting it dipped like i said.
