Hi I have been told by somone that the standard D7f engine runs lean and if I added a 16v fuel pump and a Power Boost Valve I could run the fuel at 3.5bar, increasing the power. How correct is this?? If I got a re-map as well to make sure would I expect a reasonable gain?? I'm mainly asking this as someone else had a Power Boost Valve fitted to their D7f engined Clio, with an i/k and back box they got 82bhp from the 60bhp its ment to have :/

LOL!!! 22bhp gain...hmmm somone is adding up like max power! basically no. get a remap and leave the fuel pressure alone.

I would only 100% trust someone's claimed figures if they had power tests done before and after each modification and on the same rolling road, like Meddy's Clio that Chris worked on.

Chris's port and polish unleashed an extra 13bhp after it went on the rollers.

I do agree with the above and I will probably do the same to my car if I find a decent rr place near by. I was told the 82bhp was a reading from a rr but not seeing graphs etc i have to just take their word. Main reason I mentioned the above is because a couple of people have mentioned that the engine runs lean to me so thought it would be worth a try - not that I would expect a 22bhp increase tho, even tho it would be nice lol

Wow thanks for that U33b thats really useful :) My manifold and other bits still hasn't arrived from Reichhard-motorsport as yet as one of the things I ordered is not in stock but thats a very respectable gain

I had the D7f engine in my 1.2 and i heard that you could get good gains from a powerboost valve and airfilter etc, so i thought i would give it a go.
Got a powerboost valve and played around with the fueling and didnt notice alot of gain, admittedly the engine rev'd alot better,
I actually got my D7f rolling roaded.
And with a decat, Scorpian stainless steel cat back exhaust, modded airfilter piping and a powerboost valve i produced 48.5bhp at the wheels which was 64.1bhp at the fly (have graphs to prove) admittedly it was a very hot day so would of lost it a few bhp, but its no where near what was claimed..
So after my expierience, remember a 10% gain costs alot less to get on a valver and you get alot more bhp than you would with a 1.2
Admittedly it was nippy but its still slow at the end of the day.

Stop wasting money on after market products and save for a bigger engine, cost you less in the end...
