by placing a bid on the item several days early? I think you'll find I never ever do that Razz

the no-dibs stealth tactic only has a point for items that other people probably aren't going to find on their own anyway, such as the poorly titled megane JC5 gearbox I just picked up Wink

that was claiming my stake Wink i modified the no dibs stealth tatic by not claiming dibs on the forum thereby notifiying others of its existence thereby increasing my chances of winning said item but having said that, any member of this forum should be by now quite familiar with my ebay id so therefore would do the decent thing if they discovered said item and think 'ahh good old neo wants this, he is my mentor on RR so i will do the honourable thing and let him win this as cheap as possible'

I think a classic quote is needed now

well why do you think I didn't bid on it last time?

Afterwards you told me you don't need it, you only bid cos it was cheap so what the hell.

anything with '19 16v' in the title, everyone is going to have seen. dibs is prudent.

anything poorly listed that others might not have seen, you keep quiet about Wink

that's the way I see it anyway, feel free to invoke the bastard rule! Laughing

ahhh see my stake claiming worked lol

I won't be invoking the bastard rule due to the following reasons

Your tank is off, as you have a new pump might as well stick the sender in as well thereby saving you a future job (see how kind i am being Razz ) and yep, i don't really need it lol

aye, seller prolly saw the one bid (£5 which was mine) and got his mate to up the bidding on it (quite a common practice) shame his mate put a higher bid on than i was prepared to pay heh

I'm not one to keep bidding and bidding thou, i look at an item, set a max price in my mind and i won't go over it and i usually bid at the last minute with my max figure (to cover any other bids that are over the figure shown, as you know u can put a max bid on way before the auction ends and if someone bids over u, then ebay automaticly bids for you until your max price is reached, of course you want the item as cheap as poss so you don't encourage a bidding war during the auction cos that would be silly)
If i lose, well i lose, no biggie, another one will turn up sooner or later

well i won this for £10, but despite numerous emails asking for payment details (no paypal option) the seller is yet to get back to me.

Clearly she doesnt want to let it go for £10, which puzzles me.

Listed once, ends at £20 odd with suspected shill bidding.

Relisted almost imediately, adding credence to the shill bidding suspicion, ends with no bids.

Surely by the third time she would realise that it's not going to shoot up to £50?

Get their contact information off eBay and give them a phone call. I've had similar problems in the past, a phone call works wonders!
