lets hear your stats - of the car of course.

Considering a 19 diesel or maybe even clio next.

Rough idea of range from full tank or how far a tenners get etc. Speed would be nice to hear as well.

Erm, let me see, full tank, depending on how you drive, 500 miles is possible. Went from Aberystwyth, to Addies (york) and back 12 miles south of Aberystwyth on just over 3/4 a tank(engine had 191k on the clock). 130 ish miles to a tenner, or there abouts. Fairly nippy, no where near as fast as a valver, but its not bad, pulls best between 3-4.5k revs. Thats on a TD. And you said no one ever answers your questions Laughing

If your goin for an NA diesel get a clio, the 19s seem an awful lot slower. TD is the only one to have tho

I fancied a td engine tbh.

i know the clios on NA but was considering it for the reason you stated Chet.

huw if thats all you got then theres no point in me even bothering. if I drive like a nun I get 120 miles from a tenner.

I used to get between 400 and 500 miles to a tank from the energy. Managed nearly 600 once drove from Glasgow to bens and back to glasgow on a single tank sitting at 55ish all the way cos I had no money.

i was hoping for tales of 60mpg everyday running. The megane I was out and about in with george and Paul was 55mpg booting the arse out of it and reachign 120 on a few occasions.

Not sure of exact mpg, but across the 2 TD's we have and the one my m8 has it doesn't tend to matter how you drive you'll still get 400+ per tank, you just need to be a bit gentler to hit the 500 mark(although the odd rag here and there shouldnt matter). As for the 130 remark, that was a guess, and usually when I guess im a little on the conservative side.
I've hit 70miles form a fiver before, but decided to refill , I dont like running out of diesel Razz

I just want to go twice as far for half the price basically!

Diesels the way to do it.

Amber can afford to get insured etc on a 19 TD and the 16V for under a grand fully comp despite havign 2 smashes and they were her fault!!!! And the pugs knackered so thats what were getting next a diesel of some sort for her.

How do you service a diesel? My bro has a 1.9 Clio that needs the oil changing etc. Do you know how much oil it takes and of what grade? What else needs changing?

Good idea to change air and fuel filter, also put some injector cleaner in the fuel filter before you fit it, you might find it a bit of a b*stard to start it at first but it's worth it, also put some in the tank.
I've had diesels fail mot's, used injection cleaner and they have passed!
Only use the stuf for diesels not petrol injection cleaner.
