Had the car serviced, but didn't ask him to do the HT leads or dizzy.

I went into halfords and looked at the two, now HT leads are not a problem but on the chart there are two types of dizzy with stupid names, which i can't remember.

could you tell me which is the right one for mine and do you think i'd be able to change it?

1.4i E7J 1993 engine

Cheers

halfords do have quite nicely explianed manfecturer catalogues for everything inc.ignition parts . just look in there for your specific car and engine and get the dizzy cap

its piss easy to chang and make sure the dizzy cap comes with a rotor arm if not change the rotor arm too .
make sure you disconnect the battery while changing them, otherwise you migh end up with electric shock Idea

Yeah there's loads. Took me forever to find the right one, the two Halfords stock (Ducellier and Magneti Marelli) didn't fit mine but mines carb'd version so may be different.

The only arsey thing on the 1.4's, other than that they're jems!

ben there are only 2 dizzies. 90% are duccellieur (or however the hell its spelt) only a few are magneti marrelli and I have only seen 2 magneti marrellis on 19's.

But Ben you probably were getting the one for the C type like a muppet.

The caps are different in that they will not fit enach other!

Changign is easy, 2 screws hold it on.

Ok thanks, will have to get them to order one in as they don't have any in stock.

I did the HT leads and it was serviced yesterday, doesnt seem any quicker but it's alot smoother as it used to judder a bit when sat at idle at traffic lights.

My rocker cover is all chipped and so on, so I was going to get a new one and renault want £80 for one!

I kindly thanked the chap and walked out lol Very Happy

Cheers for the info

Well I'm trying to improve the overall apperance of the engine bay. It looks ok apart from the rocker cover has no paint on it see.

It's all chipped and looks utter poo.

I'd take it off, but I don't know how and I'd need another gasket for it and I don't know where to get one of them either.

I admit I am very fussy over things, but if I wasn't the car would look like crap and would have probably died because of the way my mum treated it. Sad

I mean I only just had the oil changed after like 4 years of the same crap.
