DVLA just made my day :D

I sent my log book off about 4 weeks ago to get put into my name half expecting to have it sent back to me and have to pay the Â£19 pounds for it. I only had part 2 in someone elses name and a reciept of purchase you see, so it was looking dodgy from the start.

However all is well, I phoned DVLA from work and they have sent the new V5 out yesterday, so I can get the car taxed at the end of the month and drive up to Chris's instead of fannying around with a train. Very Happy

I guess even DVLA get it rite occasionaly Razz

I'm still waiting for the V5 for the Rover but all I could send them was a piece of paper with all the details on! The guy I bought the car from said he'd checked with the local DVLA office and they told him to do it that way. Might phone them!

wtf are you 2 on about.

V5 fill it in send off get new one back.

No V5 apply for new one then wait a week or so then you get it it.

You only need to pay if your the registered owner and lose the V5 whilst its in your name, transfering it to another is free.

Aye chris see what you mean but I was under the impression that you needed the slip at the bottom, signed over to you to change the detials over.

I suspect that may not be the case now?

you mean the new keeper supplement, if you cant get the v5 you can't get that can you so you just apply for a new v5. its always been that way.

Aye, but my new keepers supliment was filled in with someone elses name and address. Thats why it looked dodgy to me.

Problem solved now anyhoo so not to wory.

tipex it out, |i have seen then handed around with 3 or 4 different names and addys scribbled on them! its not an issue really.

DVLA makes me laugh, like when they send me my driving licence back early last time!!! called them up and told them I didnt have a licence, they said, yes you do, I said thankyou very much lol Very Happy

i had 2 do that with the bike i only had the bottom slip u no the new keepers bit and the guy i got the bike off didnt hav the other end, he siad the HE bought it off had already sent it 2 the DVLA, was well dodgy if u ask me but i new him, so if he fuked me about he'd b getting a early morning chap at the door ,if u no wat i mean Twisted Evil

but all turned out fine, phew, had 2 fill in a form from the Post Office tho!
